Katie Marie DeVault, 31 Years, of La Porte, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 after losing her 11 year battle with depression.
Katie was born in Columbus, GA, at Ft. Benning Military Base on November 20, 1986 to Timothy Dolan and Ruth (Bair) Campbell.
Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Ruth (Chuck) Campbell of La Porte; father and stepmother, Timothy (Camie) Dolan of Kansas; grandmother, Eloise Campbell of La Porte; half sister, Samantha Dolan of Kansas; stepbrother, Brandon (Krista) Campbell of La Porte; stepsister, Shari (John) Boots of Colorado; aunts and uncles, Jess (Vicki) Bair of La Porte, John (Terry) Bair of La Porte, Melody Bair of La Porte, and Gary Campbell of Arizona; cousins, Jacob Bair, Carrie Hendricks, Amanda (Curtis) Beaudoin, Conner Schweer, Silas Beaudoin, all of La Porte, Ashley and Michelle Campbell of Arizona; and several Dolan aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jess and Evelyn Bair, grandfather, Norman Campbell; and grandparents, Jim and Betty Dolan.
Katie was a strong willed woman that loved playing cards, board games, coloring, collecting decks of cards, watching TV and movies with friends and family, the Chicago Bears, and cats in which she supported through ASPCA and the Humane Society. But most of all, she love her family and spending time with them.
She graduated from La Porte High School in 2005 and then attended St. Joseph College in Rensselaer until her illness made it impossible for her to continue. We can't express enough how much of a fighter she was against her illness for all these years.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 4 PM (CST) on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
A time of visitation will be held from 1 PM (CST) until the time of the service at the funeral home on Sunday.
