Keith Harris Jones, 89, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 8:40 p.m. on Monday, July 4, 2005 at Lakeview Community Hospital in Paw Paw, Michigan.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 9, at the LaPorte First United Methodist Church with Rev. Doug Hadley officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, and at the church Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in the Wills Township Baptist Cemetery.

Keith was born August 10, 1915, in New Carlisle, Indiana to Ellis & Neva (Rogers) Jones. On September 28, 1940, in LaPorte, he married Wilma Claire Hunt, who preceded him in death on June 14, 2002.

He is survived by sons, Terry H. (Fran) Jones and K. Brian (Gloria) Jones, both of LaPorte; grandchildren Jaimie (James) Jones, Andrew Jones, Eli (Jenny) Jones, Anna Jones, Amy (Chris) Fewell, Ehtan (Kristin) Jones, Gillian Jones and Haley Jones; great-grandchildren Bailee & Bodie Jones and Claire, Luke & Zachary Fewell; sister, Eleanor J. DeMarco of LaPorte; and longtime trusted friend, Lois A. Weeden of LaPorte.

Sisters Marvel Warner, Virginia Ebeling and Eloise Schultz and brothers Kenneth & George Jones preceded him in death.

Keith was President of Screw Machine Products Company since 1944, President of Jones Enterprises since 1977, a partner in Space Leasing Company and Secretary-Treasurer of Nephi Rubber Products in Utah since 1986.

He was a member of the LaPorte First United Methodist Church, People to People International, serving as Trustee and Executive Board Member. He was Co-founder of Friends of the Handicapped in Aruba, served as director of the Hamilton Grove Foundation and was an honorary Life Member of the LaPorte Hospital Foundation. He was also a Life Member of the LaPorte Family YMCA, where he served on the Board of Directors and received the LaPorte YMCA Distinguished Service Award in 1988. He was also an honorary member of the Aruba, Netherlands Antilles YMCA. He had served on the fund raising committees for People to People and the LaPorte Hospital Foundation. He was the Outstanding LaPorte JC Citizen of 1973, Elk of the Year in 1972, received the LaPorte Rotary Club award for his professional achievement and the Sagamore of the Wabash Award.

He was former director of the First American Bank for 14 years, director of LaPorte Hospital for 13 years and director of the LaPorte Hospital Foundation. He had also served as the chairman for the United Way Fund Drive, where he received the Gold Award.

Memorials may be made to the LaPorte Hospital Foundation or the LaPorte Family YMCA.
