Kenneth R. Metcalf, Sr.

Kenneth R. Metcalf Sr., 77, of Hamlet, Indiana, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Northwest Health-Porter, with his loving family by his side.

He was born on August 10, 1947, in La Porte, Indiana, to Kenneth and Catherine (Schroeder) Metcalf.

Kenneth is survived by his 3 children, Kenneth R. Metcalf, Jr. of La Porte, Stephanie M. Watkins of La Porte, and Donna L. Swedersky of La Porte; 6 grandchildren, Chad Horton, Carlie Metcalf, Skyler Harper, Alex Harper, Seth (Stephanie) Metcalf, and Chase (Terena) Swedersky; 8 great-grandchildren; former wife, Kay Clanton of La Porte; 4 siblings, Gerald Metcalf, Terry Metcalf, Lawrence (Phyllis) Metcalf, and Marlene Bedell; sister-in-law, Ann Metcalf; loving dog, Bella; as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dennis, Virgil, and Bernie; and sister, Sharon.

Kenneth proudly served in the United States Army and later became a truck driver, hauling steel.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 434. Kenneth enjoyed fishing, hunting, visiting area casinos, and pull tabs.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be held from 1 - 3 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Military Honors will be presented at 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
