Kerney Holiday, 76 years old of LaPorte, IN, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
He was born on May 4, 1936 in Salyerville, KY, son of the late Henry and Florie Holiday.
Kerney worked as a Foreman and retired from Westville Correctional Facility. He also worked at Kingsley Furniture and Indiana Molding. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and loved to play the banjo. Bluegrass music was his life.
Kerney was married on October 30, 1972 in Michigan City to Beverly Doms who survives. Also surviving are his son, Michael Holiday of LaPorte; daughters, Gina (Doug) Klute of New Carlisle, Connie (Tim) Ransom of LaPorte, Carolyn Doms of North Liberty, Charleen West; 10 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; brother, Seldon Holiday of N.C.; and sister, Melivee Holiday of KY.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 grandson.
A time of visitation will be held from 4-6 PM on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and also 9:00 AM until the time of service on Thursday at the Funeral Home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Rev. Curtis Southwood officiating.
Interment will follow at the Swan Lake Memorial Gardens in Michigan City, IN.
