Larry Shortt, 65 years old of Walkerton, IN, died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 in South Bend, IN.
He was born May 26, 1943 in Blough, Pennsylvania, Son of the late Leo and Goldie (Ringler) Shortt.
Larry was very proud of his service in the United States Navy for 10 years. Being a grandfather played a large part in his life.
Surviving are 2 sons: Patrick (Jennifer) Shortt of Walkerton, IN., Jason (Nickie) Shortt of Plymouth, IN; 6 grandchildren: Benjamin, Victoria, Alyssa, Cristina, Olivia and Lucas Shortt; 3 sisters: Phyllis Comeno of LaPorte, IN., Jean (Paul) Lohr of PA, Maxine Manges of Rolling Prairie, IN; 3 brothers: Joseph Shortt of Bull Head City, AZ., David (Ruth) Shortt of Plymouth, IN. and Jerry (Virginia) Shortt of TN.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends will be received from 10 A.M. to 1 P.M., Saturday, January 31, 2009 at the Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, IN.
Services will be held at Cutler Funeral Home, Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Hugh Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in the Rolling Prairie Cemetery with full military honors.
