Laura Jo Caponigro

Laura J. Caponigro, 46, of La Porte, passed away on Friday, November 25, 2022, at Northwest Health- La Porte.

Laura was born in Chicago, IL, on April 19,1976 to Frank and Susan (Kristufek) Caponigro.

Surviving Laura are her parents, Susan of La Porte and Frank of Oaklawn, IL; children, Nicolina and Giovanni Caponigro and Caleb and Cayden Jonas, all of La Porte; brothers, Larry and his wife, Mercedes, Caponigro of Springfield, IL and Mark and his wife, Jessica, Caponigro of MI; sisters, Melissa Caponigro and Michelle and her husband, Dave, Hoffman of Oaklawn, IL; grandmother, Josephine (Baudo) Kristufek of Chicago; great aunt, Colleen Baudo of Chicago, IL; great uncles, Salvatore Baudo of Crestwood, IL and Basil Baudo of Jackson, TN; uncle, Lawrence Kristufek of Chicago, IL; aunt, Victoria (Kristufek) and her husband, Daniel, Sanchez of Chicago, IL; cousins, Diana (Sanchez) and her husband, Richard, Moya of Chicago IL, Jaclyn (Sanchez) Brakel of St. Charles, IL, and Chris Brakel of St. Charles, IL; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her great grandmother, Grace Baudo; grandfather, Edwin Kristufek; and first cousin, Cheryl Sanchez.

Laura was a mom and homemaker, who dearly loved her family. She loved spending time with her children and extended family. Laura was often found helping others in any way she could. She had the biggest heart! She always had her eyes open for people in need! You would always see her helping and feeding the homeless. She often took people in to give them a hot meal or a place to sleep. Laura was a selfless person and touched so many lives.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2022, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 2 p.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.  Cremation will take place following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be directed to the family ℅ Susan Caponigro, 2900 Monroe Street, La Porte, IN 46350, to help with the care of Laura's surviving children.
