Laura Mae Day, 87, of La Porte, IN, passed away on October 21, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Laura was born on May 25, 1937, in La Porte, IN, to Virron and Ethal (Pace) Goodson.

On September 22, 1956 in La Porte, IN, she married Robert Day who survives. Also surviving are her son, Rodney (Tina) Day of La Porte; 1 granddaughter, Destanee Walker; 3 great-granddaughters, Mia, Ava, and Ali; sister, Charlotte Ambers of La Porte; as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 sons, Todd A. and Mark J. Day.

For many years, Laura worked in a medical office. Laura enjoyed crocheting various items, but she especially enjoyed blessing others with her creation of baby blankets. She also enjoyed being in the yard, gardening, and cooking home cooked meals and desserts.

Laura loved her family and church family. She enjoyed attending church, both for services and social events. Those that knew Laura were truly blessed by her friendship.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at I Street Church of Christ with Pastor John Haverkamp officiating. Burial will take place at a later date at Alta Loma Cemetery, Santa Fe, TX.
