Lawrence "Larry" Michael Williams, 75, of La Porte, passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Millers Merry Manor.

Lawrence was born in Chicago, IL, on September 7, 1941 to Daniel and Barbara (Wendt) Williams-Weinstein.

On April 26, 1984 in New Carlisle, he married Nancy Ann Woltman who survives in La Porte. Also surviving are his beloved children, John (Suzy) Williams of New Carlisle, Mike Williams (Shirley Aikman) of La Porte, Michele Dziaba (Susan Fink) of Mundelein, IL, and Lydia Post (Joe Maesch) of La Porte; grandchildren, Madison, Mason, Aydin, and Lucky; brothers, Dan Williams of Wisconsin, Fred (Penny) Williams of FL, and Tom Williams of TX; sister, Leah (Mike) Wittekind of WA; sister-in-law, Pat Barnhart of IN; brother-in-law, Jim (Judie) Woltman of FL; and many other loving family members, friends, and favorite friends!

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Sam Weinstein; sister-in-law, Dorothy Williams; and brothers-in-law, Tomkins Barnhart and Tom Woltman.

Lawrence served as a Police Officer for the City of La Porte and retired after 20 years of service. He also worked as a kitchen and bath designer for Dyes Plumbing and Heating, and as the city of La Porte Recycling Director. He was a member of the FOP Lodge #54; served as Merritt Commissioner for La Porte City Police Department, and served as Trustee for Center Township. He enjoyed remodeling, was a nature enthusiast, hiking, boating, he was an avid reader, tennis player, and photographer.

A cremation committal has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM Sunday, October 23, 2016 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A time of visitation will be held from 1 PM until the time of service at the funeral home on Sunday.
