Lawrence "Larry" Wysocki, Sr. "Pops", 76 years old of Walkerton, IN, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012 in IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
He was born September 7, 1936 in Blue Island, IL, son of the late Constant and Rose (Hahn) Wysocki.
Larry was married on October 16, 1958 to Joyce Hamer who survives.
Larry was a US Navy Veteran, a life member of American Legion Post 50 Blue Island, IL; he was also a member of the Fish Lake Conservation Club. Larry was retired from the LaPorte County Sheriff's Office. He also worked as a switchman for Missouri Pacific Railroad and was a police officer with different departments in Illinois and Indiana.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce Wysocki of Fish Lake; daughter, Sandra Wysocki of Fish Lake; sons, Lawrence (Connie) Wysocki, Jr. of Fish Lake, James (Jodine) Wysocki of Crestwood, IL; 6 grandchildren, Michael Culver, Jennifer Culver, Steve, Brian, Steven, Elizabeth, & Matthew Wysocki; 9 Great Grandchildren; sister, Margaret (Jim) Flaherty of Orland Park, IL; brothers, Constant "Bud" (Mary Ann) Wysocki, Nick (Marilyn) Wysocki of Jonesboro, AK, Christopher (Martha) Wysocki of Tucson, AZ; many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, November 9, 2012 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fish Lake with Rev. Michael Heimer officiating.
A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 4-8 PM at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, LaPorte, IN. There will also be a time of visitation on Friday from 9-9:30 AM at the funeral home.
Following the Mass, Full Military Honor's and a luncheon will be held at the American Legion Post 400, Fish Lake, IN.
A Graveside service will be held Friday at 3:30 PM in the Chapel at Oak Hill Cemetery, Blue Island, IL. The burial will take place privately across the street from Oak Hill Cemetery, at Beverly Cemetery.
