Lena (Moretti) Heatherson

Lena Argea Heatherson, 87, of La Porte, passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Miller Health and Rehab in La Porte.

Lena was born on April 13, 1930 in La Porte, IN, to Alfredo and Anita Moretti.

On September 2, 1950 in La Porte, IN, she married Glen "Pete" Edward Heatherson who preceded her in death.

Surviving are her beloved daughter, Cathy (William) Boklund; son-in-law, John (Kathy) Curry; 3 grandchildren, John (Kelly) Curry, Jamie (Billy) Buchanan, and Heather Boklund; 4 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Andrew, Sam Curry and Emma Buchanan; 6 siblings; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; Alfredo and Anita Moretti; her husband, Glen "Pete" Heatherson; daughter, Christeen Curry and her siblings.

Lena worked in the school cafeteria for 15 years at La Porte Community School Corporation.  She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, member of St. Peter funeral choir and committee, member of Joan of Arch circle, active in Meals on Wheels, and was an avid animal lover.  Lena was known fondly for riding her bike around town with her dogs.  She had a smile for everyone and never met a person she didn't like.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 AM (CST) on Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 6 PM (CST) on Tuesday February 27, 2018 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with a Rosary service at 6 PM (CST).
