Liston L. Sonny Brown

November 22, 1929 — October 27, 2004

Liston L. Sonny Brown, 74, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 10:16 a.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, at LaPorte Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 30, at the Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Henry Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday and on Saturday from 1:00 p.m until the time of services. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery where the LaPorte Honor Guard will conduct full military rites.

Liston was born November 22, 1929, in Charleston, South Carolina to Rev. Liston L. & Ruth (Floyd) Brown, Sr. One April 7, 1956, in LaPorte, he married Barbara Henning, who survives.

He is also survived by daughters, Patricia A. (Mark) Brown-Rodgers of LaPorte, Pamela Kay (Jeff) Sobczyk of San Diego, CA and Kimberly Ann Brown of LaPorte; grandchildren, Jeffrey Alan Rodgers and Christopher Mark Rodgers; and 11 nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by 5 sisters, Frances, Gladys, Sally, Dottie and Dinky.

Liston was the founder and owner of Liston L. Brown Realtors & Auctioneer. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, the LaPorte Moose Lodge, American Legion Post #8 and the F.O.P. He was a former member of the LaPorte Elks Lodge and a member of the LaPorte Co, the Indiana and the National Association of Realtors. He received the G.R.I. & C.R.S. distinction in real estate. He also served in the US Airforce during the Korean War.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul United Church of Christ or the Heart Unit of LaPorte Hospital.
