Lloyd Arthur Schuster, 85, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 10:05 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2005 at LaPorte Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Ronald Brauer officiating. Visitation will be on Monday from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Cutler Funeral Home and Tuesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
Lloyd was born April 21, 1920 in Knox, Indiana to the late William & Ida (Pflugshaupt) Schuster. On June 30, 1943, in Knoxville, TN, he married Ann L. Wallace who survives.
Also surviving are sons Jerry (Judy) Schuster and Roger (Pauletta) Schuster of LaPorte and Greg (Donna) Schuster of Tucson, AZ; daughter Dawn (Jim) Crum of LaPorte; brother Robert Schuster of South Bend, IN; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren with 3 on the way; and 34 nieces and nephews.
Sisters Ruth Leiss and Norma Sherwood preceded him in death.
Lloyd had retired from the Modine Manufacturing Co. after 44 years, having helped establish and then manage for many years the Modine Federal Credit Union.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he had served as trustee, elder and usher. He was an active member and participant in the Aid Association for Lutherans. He was a WW II veteran, serving in the US Coast Guard. He was also a member of the American Legion.
