Lorene Eggebrecht Hutchens, 70, LaPorte, died of natural causes at 4:10 a.m. Thursday (June 12, 2003) at LaPorte Hospital.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at LaPorte Baptist Church, with the Rev. Timothy Gilbert officiating. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Cutler Funeral Home handled arrangements.
She was born Aug. 10, 1932, in Three Rivers, Mich., to Lawrence and Clara (McCoy) Eggebrecht. In January of 1955, she married Stewart Hutchens Jr., who died Dec. 13, 1993.
Survivors include four daughters, Christine West, LaPorte, Cheryl Gall, Hudson Lake, Lorrie Grover, Corpus Christie, Texas, and Carrie Jones, LaPorte; three sons, Robert G. Hutchens and Stewart Hutchens III, both of LaPorte, and Steven Hutchens, Merritt Island, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Wilbur Moore, Murrysville, Pa.; and two sisters, Iradell Otter and June Strickland, both of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.
Also preceding Mrs. Hutchens in death were one sister, Midge; and one brother, Clarence.
Mrs. Hutchens was a homemaker and was devoted to her children and her family.
