Lori Savich, 45, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 28, 2005, at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 2, at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Rod Nielson and Rev. Dana Brown officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
Lori was born September 5, 1960, in Lowell, Indiana to Clyde & Norma (Worley) Sark who survive in Lowell. On May 23, 1981, in Lowell, she married Carl Savich who survives.
Survivors also include son Philip Savich of LaPorte; sisters Clyda (Robert) Schrenker of Destin, FL and Gwen (Steve) Bartz of Magnolia, TX; and brother Steve (Arlene) Sark of Fort Worth, TX. Her grandparents preceded her in death.
Lori had spent 23 years in the education field. She had taught at the elementary and middle school levels in the Michigan City Area Schools and had taught special education in LaPorte and Porter Counties. She had also been the sole proprietor of a pre-school/childcare business. Most recently she had taught middle school math in the Michigan City Area Schools.
She was a member of the LaPorte First Church of God, volunteering at Vacation Bible School and working with the Compassion Ministry. She was a YMCA Triathlon Volunteer and was a member of the Indiana State Math Teachers Association.
Lori enjoyed walking, reading, gardening, travel and spending time with family and friends.
