Louis Anthony Manino, 83 years old of LaPorte, IN, passed away on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at his home.
He was born August 28, 1929 in Tickfaw, LA, son of the late Nicola and Rose (Sampere) Manino.
He served in the Korean War. He retired as a Machinist at Curtiss Candy/Nabisco Brands and was a member of the American Legion, St. Joseph Catholic Church, and the VFW. Louis enjoyed gardening, fishing, and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
Louis was married on October 3, 1959 to Violet Mae (Adkins) Manino who survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Nancy (Samuel) Hill of LaPorte; son, Anthony (Lilly) Manino of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Rokana Valerio, Paula Manino, Louis (Erica) Manino, Nicholas Hill; great granddaughters, Cianna Manino, Maya Mora; sisters, Lena Giambruno of Minneapolis, MN, Margaret Maggio of Belvedere, IL, Corrine Relan of Tickfaw, LA, Rosie Tucker of Tickfaw, LA; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Katie, Jenny, Frank, Mary, Buster, Pauline, and Pete.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Eduardo Malogon officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Friday, January 11, 2013 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with a Prayer Service to begin at 5:00 PM.
Interment will follow in the Swan Lake Memorial Gardens, Michigan City, IN.
