Louis A. Moosey, M.D., 93, of Indianapolis, IN and formerly of LaPorte, IN, died on Monday, January 3, 2005 at Community Hospital North, Indianapolis.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2005 at the Cutler Funeral Home in LaPorte, with Rev. David Handley officiating.
Louis was born February 15, 1911, in Monogah, WV to Anthony & Bessie (Johns) Moosey. On December 2, 1936, he married Doris Tulman, who preceded him in death on August 29, 2002.
Survivors include son Neale A. Moosey, M.D. of Zionsville, IN; daughter Phyllis A. Nolan of Burt Lake, MI; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and sisters Helen Moosey of Cayce, SC, Catherine Gleva of Tacoma, WA and Elizabeth Fleming of Mullins, SC.
He was a private practice physician and surgeon who practiced in Union Mills and LaPorte for 54 years before retiring in 1992.
He had lived in Union Mills from 1938-1950 and then in LaPorte from 1950-1998 before moving to Indianapolis. He was a member of the LaPorte Presbyterian Church, The American Medical Association and the Indiana Sate Medical Association. He was the past president of the LaPorte County Medical Society.
