Lucian "Slim" Daniel, 88, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 6:40 a.m. on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at Miller's Merry Manor of Walkerton, Indiana.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 20, at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Devenport officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Patton Cemetery.
Slim was born April 4, 1917 in Moulton, Alabama to Marcus L. & Lillian (Thrasher) Daniel.
Survivors include son James (Dolores) Daniel of Orlando, Florida; four grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; dedicated loving caregiver Helen Tibbs of Rolling Prairie, IN; companion Josephine Wells of LaPorte; cousins Mildred Wiltfong of LaPorte, Geneva Gage of Bronson, MI and Edith Jackson of Bremen, AL; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, a daughter, three brothers, one sister and a grandson preceded him in death.
Slim had retired from Castings Services of LaPorte after 37 years of service. He was a WW II army veteran and he was a member of the American Legion and P.N.A.
