Lucille Lucy Tyskie, of LaPorte, IN, died at 7:00 a.m., Monday, August 2, 2004 at her home. She was 74.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 5, at the Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. David Hill officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00-8:00 p.m., with a memorial service being held at 7:00 p.m. conducted by the Indiana Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. Burial will be in the Pine Lake Cemetery.
She was born November 15, 1929, in Taulbe, Kentucky to George & Emma (Jacob) King. On June 17, 1950, in LaPorte, she married Felix C. Tyskie, who preceded her in death March 27, 1972.
Survivors include a daughter, Susan (Alan) Parsons, LaPorte; sons Robert (Janice) Tyskie, Mill Creek, IN and Charles (Rachel) Tyskie, Michigan City, IN; grandchildren Don Heichel II, Sandra Hill, Walter & Hanna Tyskie, Alan Bosserman, and Angela & Scott Parsons; 11 great-grandchildren; a step-father, Kenneth Kaley, LaPorte; and a sister, Naomi Ainsley, LaPorte.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Alberta Engle.
She had worked in the US Slicing Machine Company cafeteria, at the LaPorte Elks Club, Dwyer Instruments, the Austenal Corporation, the Iron Horse Restaurant, had owned and managed Lucy's Coffee Shop in Michigan City and had worked at the Wildwood Restaurant.
She was a member of the Springville
Free Methodist Church, a member of the Springfield Twp. Fire Department Auxiliary for 27 years and was a life member of the VFW Post #1130 Auxiliary.
