Lynda June Ringer, 80, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, January 13, 2024.
Lynda was born in Thomaston, GA on August 15, 1943 to Oren and Lottie (Edwards) Bowen.
On August 24, 1961 in Apopka, FL, she married Melvin J. Ringer who survives. Also surviving are her 5 children, Melinda (Steve) Bom of La Porte, Kevin Ringer of La Porte, Brenda (Mike) Goins of Whitwell, TN, Charlene (Bob) Tallant of Chattanooga, TN, and Matthew (Jenna) Ringer of Tuscumbia, AL; 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Kenneth Lee Bowen and Donavan Bowen; and daughter-in-law, LaTricia Ringer.
Lynda enjoyed spending her time reading, playing with her children and grandchildren, cleaning, organizing, and detailing her home, and entertaining.
Most of all, Lynda enjoyed helping people whether she knew them or not. Her faith and relationship with God were of ultimate importance to her. She loved studying and learning more about Jesus. Lynda was dedicated to her children receiving a Christian education and she sacrificed much for that to take place. Lynda was a wonderful wife and the spice of Melvin's life.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2024 at La Porte Seventh Day Adventist Church.
The time of visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Sunday at the church. Cremation will take place following the service.
