Lynnette Shippee, 76, Rolling Prairie, died at 9:25 p.m. Monday (July 28, 2003) at LaPorte Hospital.
The funeral is at 11 a.m. Friday at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, with the Rev. Jay Loucks officiating. Burial is in Rolling Prairie Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until the service Friday at the funeral home.
She was born March 15, 1927, in LaPorte County to Albert and Theresa (Schmerling) Hart. Her mother survives as Theresa Hopper in LaPorte. She married Richard Dick Shippee, who survives in Rolling Prairie.
Survivors include two sons, Reinie (Barb Wallace) Shippee, Rolling Prairie, and Richard (Mary) Shippee, New Buffalo, Mich.; one daughter, Michelle Finney; five grandchildren,
Rick, Chad & Steven Shippee, Gar Lazarek and Melissa Shippee-Noveroske; five great-grandchildren; one foster daughter, Millie McCarty, Lafayette, Ind.; one sister, Marion Brady, Rolling Prairie; and two brothers, James Hart, LaPorte, and Alden Chuck Hopper, Michigan City.
Mrs. Shippee owned Lynn's Ceramics Shop in Rolling Prairie. She was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9423 Auxiliary of Rolling Prairie, and a former member of the Moose Lodge and Chain of Lakes Conservation Club.
