LA PORTE — Mabel L. Koselke, 98, La Porte, died at 8:25 p.m. Friday (Aug. 22, 2008) at Golden Living Center, La Porte.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday at Door Village United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jeff Jones officiating. Burial is in Door Village Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cutler Funeral Home, La Porte, and 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
Mrs. Koselke was born Dec. 14, 1909, in La Porte, to Alfred and Mary (Anderson) Nelson, who preceded her in death. On Oct. 21, 1933, she was married to Bernard “Ben” Koselke, who preceded her in death in 1953.
Surviving are one son, Robert A. (Joyce) Koselke, La Porte; two grandchildren, Lindsay Koselke, La Porte, and Brad Koselke, Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by a stepmother, Ruby Perry Nelson.
Mrs. Koselke worked for Continental Diamond Fiber, Valparaiso. She was a member of Door Village United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women, Pinola Grange for more than 75 years, Pomona Grange, Farm Bureau and was a charter member of Scipio Township Fire Department Auxiliary. She drove for Meals on Wheels for 10 years.
