Mae Albertsen, 85, of Union Mills, Indiana, died at 6:15 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2005 at Countryside Place Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
A funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 28, at Cutler Funeral Home with Pastor John Beehler officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Union Mills Cemetery at a later date.
Mae was born May 8, 1920, in LaPorte County to Albert & Christina (Kirkeby) Nelson. On January 10, 1948, in LaPorte, she married Alvin George Albertsen, who preceded her in death October 23, 2002.
Surviving are daughters Sue (Robert) Tano of Jacksonville, FL and Norma (Richard) Koch of Union Mills, IN; grandchildren Meredith & Benjamin Tano and Richard & Melissa Koch; sisters Doris Couch of Riverside, CA and Edna Harris of St. Charles, IL; and brother-in-law Kenneth Johnson of Walkerton, IN.
Her parents, brothers Carl, Ernest, John and Howard Nelson and sisters Bessie Market, Esther Nelson, Myrtle Wirth and Iva Johnson preceded her in death.
During WW II, Mae worked at the Kingsbury Ordinance Plant. She became a homemaker after marriage. She graduated from Union Mills High School in 1940.
