Marcia R (Fiacable) Hines, 50, of La Porte, Indiana entered into the presence of God on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at IU La Porte Hospital surrounded by her family. Marcia fought a remarkable battle with cancer through her strong spirit and unwavering faith that her life was ultimately in God's hands.
Marcia was born on December 24, 1961 in Gary, Indiana to Michael and Lois (Kahres) Fiacable.
She was an honors graduate of Merrillville High School class of 1980. In 1984 she graduated with honors from Purdue University with a B.S. in Psychology. Marcia earned her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Counseling in 1986 from Regent University, Virginia Beach, Virginia, again, graduating with honors.
On May 12, 1984 at Hobart Assembly of God, she married Jeff Hines, of Hammond, Indiana, who survives.
Marcia served on the faculty of Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida, where her husband attended and earned his B.A. in Pastoral Ministry, from 1986 to 1989.
In 1989, Marcia moved with Jeff to La Porte to begin their life in ministry together at La Porte Assembly of God. Knowing that family and relationships are the most important aspects of our lives, Marcia committed her life to serving others through repairing breaches in relationships and restoring hurting families; helping them dwell together in a healthy manner by guiding them into practical application of biblical truth.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sons Josiah, Jordan and Joel Hines of La Porte; her parents of Crown Point, Indiana, Brother Mark (Jan) Fiacable of Marco Island, Florida; Sister Pam (Dr. Gary) Staub, Valparaiso, Indiana; Brother Paul (Jody Christian) Fiacable, Crown Point, Indiana; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Anthony and Rose Fiacable and George and Elsie Kahres.
Marcia was a loving and supportive wife who had an irreplaceable impact on her husband's ministry. She was a devoted, stay-at-home mom, who homeschooled her sons, guiding them to become outstanding young men. She was an honest friend, faithful and ready to give wise counsel. Her life has influenced many people who carry on her legacy through their lives.
