Margaret Pabis, 77, of LaPorte, IN, died at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at her home.
A funeral mass will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Ted Nordquist officiating. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Cutler Funeral Home. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Margaret was born on February 13, 1927, in LaPorte, to Joseph & Helen Ferne (Gray) Huba Scheuer. On May 20, 1949, in LaPorte, she married Edward John Pabis who preceded her in death on February 15, 1997.
Survivors include sons James (Lynn) Pabis, St. Joseph, MI, David (Diane) Pabis, Memphis, TN and Steven (Michele) Pabis, Michigan City, IN; grandchildren, Jason, Tracy, James Jr., Matt, Evan and Jennifer Pabis, Jeff Dolson, and Chris and Mike Parham; great-grandchildren, Brookelyn Wheeler, Sydney and Hunter Dolson.; and brother, John Huba,
Arlington, VA.
She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Kathy, and 2 brothers, Joe & Bob.
She was a registered nurse and had worked at the Holy Family Hospital in LaPorte. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and had been involved with the Maple City Cadets for 22 years. She was a graduate of LaPorte High School and of St. Xavier University in Chicago, interning at Mercy Hospital Nursing School in Chicago.
