Marian Francis (Seymour) Wentz

Marian Francis Wentz, 87, passed away on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Miller's Merry Manor in Culver.

Marian was born on June 1, 1935 in Reynolds, IN, to Harold Oscar and Jeannette Ernestine (Westfall) Seymour.

On January 17, 1963 in Buffalo, IN, she married Max Dean Wentz who preceded her in death on November 13, 1986.  Surviving are her children, Tricia (Tracy) Beach and Philip D. Wentz, both of Albuquerque, NM; 7 grandchildren, James Wolkins, Jr. of Lake Wales, FL, John (Renae) Arnold, III both serving Active Duty, Matthew Wentz of Plymouth, IN, Kayla (Daniel) Edwards of Terre Haute, Mariah Tepper of Pierceton, Michael Wentz of Indianapolis, and Trevor Wentz of Albuquerque, NM;  1 great-grandchild, John Edwards; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 23 years, Max Wentz; son, John Harold Wentz; stepdaughter, Marsha Anne (Wentz) Wolkins; and siblings, Deloss Seymour, Jerry Seymour, and Peggy Harris.

Marian was the custodian for the Culver Academies Memorial Chapel for many years.  She took pride in caring for the Culver Chapel ensuring many events, ceremonies, and weddings were as pristine as possible.  Marian was always available to the students to lend an ear and give words of encouragement.  Culver Academies was Marian's extended family and second home.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.  At a later date, a private family graveside service will take place at St. James Lutheran Cemetery in Reynolds, IN.

Memorial contributions may be made in the name of Marian Wentz to Culver Memorial Chapel at Culver Academies, 1300 Academy Road, Culver, IN  46511.
