Marie Harrison, 92, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 5:05 a.m. on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, September 1, at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Galloway officiating. Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be on Saturday at 12:00 p.m. CST at Thorn Cemetery, Wolflake, Indiana.
Marie was born October 3, 1913, in Whitley County, Indiana to the late Charles and Tessie (Pressler) Rex. On September 14, 1936, in Columbia City, Indiana, she married Hollis G. Harrison who preceded her in death February 19, 1981.
Survivors include daughter Sonja Mathis of LaPorte; sister Mary Gephart of Columbia City, IN; grandchildren Michael Lee Mathis, Candace Evans, Tami Frame, and Jeff & Mark Harrison; 7 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
A son, Rex Harrison, brothers Luther, Howard, Fred & James Rex and sister Daisy Carmin preceded her in death.
Marie and her husband had co-managed the LaPorte Airport from 1957-1974. She was a member of the LaPorte First Baptist Church and the Eastern Star, LaPorte Chapter 280, where she was past matron.
