Marilyn Sallwasser, 79, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 12:45 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2006. She died at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 23, at St. John's Lutheran Church with Rev. Ron Brauer officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Cutler Funeral Home and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery.
Marilyn was born March 11, 1927, in LaPorte to the late Irvin & Vaneta (Magruder) Garwood. On August 21, 1948, in LaPorte, she married Thomas D. Sallwasser who survives.
Also surviving are daughters Patricia Jo Sallwasser of LaPorte and Peggy Ann (Charles E. ) Wolf of Michigan City; grandsons Chandler T. Parkhouse and James T. Wolf; and sister Audrey Garwood Cogswell of Marietta, GA.
A brother, John M. Garwood preceded her in death.
Marilyn was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and Questers, where she had won a state competition.
She was a homemaker, an artist and a devoted wife and mother.
