Marilyn E. Weiss, 81 years old of La Porte, IN, died Thursday, June 3, 2010 in LaPorte Hospital.
She was born January 18, 1929 in Mill Creek, IN., Daughter of the late Miller C. & Florence (Ruff) Wilson.
She was married on December 26, 1959 in Mill Creek, IN., to Donald E. Weiss who preceded her in death on September 8, 2002.
Marilyn was a New Carlisle High School Graduate and received her B.A. and M.A. from Indiana University. She worked as a teacher for the LaPorte Community Schools for 38 years. She was a member of Woman's Literary Society and First Baptist Church were she served as financial secretary, Sunday school teacher and board member.
Surviving are her son, James E. Weiss of LaPorte; daughter, Dr. Janet S.Weiss of Rolling Prairie; son, John W. Weiss of LaPorte; sisters, Arlene Lawson of Seymour, IN., Doris Craycraft of Plymouth, IN., and Kay Heirbrandt of Indianapolis, IN.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Weiss, her parents, and brother, Max C. Wilson
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration Of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 19, 2010 at First Baptist Church in LaPorte, IN. There will be a time of visitation with the family from 10-11 A.M. at the church on Saturday.
