Mark J. Young

Mark J. Young, 87, passed away on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at Rittenhouse Senior Living Center.

Mark was born on April 7, 1935 in Los Angeles, CA, to Francis and Edith (Heinz) Young.

On September 22, 1963 in Hammond, IN, he married Joan Larson who preceded him in death.  Surviving Mark are his sons, Bill (Michelle) Young of Trail Creek and Dan (Carol) Young of Bloomington; grandchildren, Joel (Brianna) Young of Martinsville and Erin Young of Bloomington; and 2 great-grandchildren, Collin and Amelia.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and sister, Vicky Platis.

Mark was a salesperson for many years at Sears Roebuck.  He enjoyed biking, fishing, and antiques.  Mark will be fondly remembered as never meeting a stranger.  He was known to take his time to hear and learn about the lives of others.  Mark was a treasure to have as a father and friend.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
