Biography Marlene Joyce Adams, age 67, of La Porte, passed away on Friday, March 28, 2014 at IU Health La Porte Hospital.
She was born in La Porte, IN, on September 16, 1946, to Earl and Sylvia (Rosenbaum) Guernsey.
On June 8, 1974 in La Porte, IN, she married John Adams who survives. Also surviving are her beloved sons, J.R. (Laura) Shrader of South Bend, IN, and Michael (Whitney) Adams of Fishers, IN; three grandsons, Joseph Shrader, Isaac Shrader, and Graham Adams; as well as her brother, Edward (Judy) Guernsey of Valparaiso, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Marlene was a retired elementary teacher having taught fourth grade at Lincoln and third grade at Stillwell. Marlene's life was largely dedicated to teaching children and to her family. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10 am on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Dr. Joseph Loftis officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 3-7 pm on Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 9 am until the time of service at the church on Thursday.
