Martha "Peggy" A. Darsch, 99, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, April 1, 2005 at Fountainview Terrace Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 4, at Cutler Funeral Home, with Rev. Ronald Brauer officiating. Visitation is Monday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
Peggy was born December 9, 1905, in LaPorte to John Frank & Bertha Wilhelmina (Ehlendfelt) Gierke. On August 20, 1928, she married Harry Darsch, who preceded her in death in December of 1972.
Survivors include special niece and nephew Betty (Fred) Hedington of North Liberty, IN and Bob (Rita) Vantine of LaPorte; other nieces and nephews Barbara (Howard) Wiggins, Gene (Gail) Gierke of LaPorte, Pat Krassow of Rolling Prairie, IN, Sandy (Bill) Husdon of Missouri, and Don (Pat) Gierke of LaPorte; and several great-nieces and nephews.
Four sisters, four brothers and long-time friend Emil Stromberg preceded her in death.
Peggy had managed the Sunset Inn at Hudson Lake with her husband Harry. She was also a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.
