Marvin A. Wireman

July 15, 1939 — October 31, 2022

Marvin Wireman peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Monday, October 31, 2022.  He was surrounded by his loving family in LaPorte, IN.

One of seven siblings, Marvin was born July 15, 1939 to Wile and Missouri Wireman in Fredville, KY. On December 5, 1958, Marvin married Linda Lou White Wireman, his “lifelong sweetheart” as he would call her.  Marvin and Linda celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in December 2018.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Barbara Combs; and his daughter, Felicia Wireman Dick.

He is survived by his wife, Linda, and their children: Carl (Gina) Wireman, Lowell (Susie) Wireman, Jeaniene (Matt) Emerick, and Austin (Holly) Wireman; his grandchildren: Dustin (Deidre) Wireman, Jenna (Casey) Thayer, Danielle McDermott, Brenna Dick, Kaitlyn (Amanda) Dick, Mikayla (Jordan) Koontz, Jadon Dick, Reagan Wireman, Bristol Wireman, Grayson Wireman, Stephen Bird, Colleen (Tony) Sanchez, Shannon Tucker, and Andrew Tucker; and his great grandchildren: Kyleigh Wireman and Blake Dillard, Hayden Castro and Emelia Thayer, Zach, Nathan, Aaron and Leea McDermott, Riley Dick, Branson & Brielle Koontz.

Marvin is also survived by his sisters: Fay (Burl) White, Vivian Pinkepank, Janet (Charles) Standifer, and Sharon (Von) Collins; and his brother, Wiley Wireman.

Marvin believed in hard work, honest living, his family, and his faith. He enjoyed working on cars-a passion he inspired in his sons and grandson.  Later in life, Marvin became fond of cooking. His green beans were home-grown and cooked with love along with everyone’s favorite bread and homemade butter. Marvin also enjoyed fishing and golfing, two things that created opportunities for him to spend time with people he loved. Marvin knew no strangers and was known for his storytelling. He shared his favorite stories with anyone who had time to listen…perhaps his way of helping us all slow down and enjoy the moments. He loved his family stoically but his grandchildren and great grandchildren revealed the big marshmallow inside. Marvin was a proud man with much to be proud of and his legacy lives on in a family who gathers often, loves immeasurably, and lives strongly in faith.
