Mary Ella Burkett, 88, of , La Porte passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017.
Mary was born in Newport, AR, on July 5, 1929 to Sidney and Bessie (Brock) Gray.
On November 11, 1950 in Newport, AR, she married Ruel E. Burkett who preceded her in death on July 28, 1990. Surviving are her beloved daughters, Sherry Bettuo of Davenport, IA, Pat (Bob) Thompson of Fairfield Bay, AR, and son, Scott Burkett of La Porte; 5 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; sister, Jestine Birlson of Birlington, IA; brother, Ben (Paula) Gray of Marion, IN; nieces, nephews, and cousins including special cousin, Helen Brock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and daughter, Susan Kim Burkett.
Mary was a member of Tracy United Methodist Church. She worked at American Rubber for many years.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 PM (CST) on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Ann Dill officiating. Interment will take place at Tracy Cemetery following the service. A time of visitation will be held from 11 AM (CST) until the time of the service at the funeral home on Saturday.
