Mary Lou (Chambers) Cox, 77, of Michigan City, IN passed away peacefully at her daughter’s home in Valparaiso, IN on Thursday, January 30, 2014.
Mary was born in Michigan City on May 27, 1936 to Guy and Rose (Wozinak) Chambers.
On February 12, 1954, she married Nathan Luna Cox, Jr. who preceded her in death. Mary was a retired school bus driver for the Michigan City School System. She was a leader for the Girl Scouts of America. She collected music boxes and loved to crochet.
Surviving are her beloved daughters, Katherine (Bill) Raschka of Michigan City, Debra (Roy) Privoznik of Michigan City, and Colleen (Stephen) Letnich of Valparaiso; grandchildren, Genevieve (John) Waldron, Timothy (Lisa) Human, Victoria Rae Letnich, Nathan Robert Letnich, and Lilly Ann Letnich; and great-grandchildren, Alexis Human, Kaige Kintzele, Jaxson Human, Mary Mae Waldron, Brandon Waldron, and Rebecca Waldron; brothers, Larry (Paula) Chambers, Jerry (Cay) Chambers, and Terry Chambers; and sister, Linda (Richard) Hyska.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Jeffrey Nathan Cox; brothers, Gene (Wanita) Chambers and Robert Chambers; and son-in-law, Warren Stueck, Jr.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 2900 Monroe St., La Porte, IN, with Pastor Mark Reshan officiating. Burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Michigan City, IN.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 PM on Monday, February 3, 2014 and from 9-11 AM prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
