Mary Deutscher, 88, of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, died at 2:40 p.m. on Monday, June 19, 2006 at Miller's Merry Manor in New Carlisle, IN.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 22, at Pine Lake Cemetery with Rev. David Tripp officiating. A memorial service will be held at noon on Thursday at the Rolling Prairie VFW.
Mary was born December 5, 1917, in LaPorte, Indiana to the late William & Mary (Schmarr) Matve. On November 2, 1940, in Michigan City, IN she married Wilbur "Dutch" Deutscher who preceded her in death June 13, 1997.
Surviving are daughters Mary Kessler, Barbara (Glen) Cable and Donna (Al) Brown, all of LaPorte; sons Robert E. (Lori) Deutscher of South Bend, IN, Stephen a. (Lori) Deutscher of Burlington, WI and James W. (Lisa) Deutscher of Auburn, IN; grandchildren Pamela (Joe) Park, Lori (Bill Stayback) Long, Michael Benjamin, Mark (Kathy) Lewis, Robert Brown, Christopher Kessler, Melinda (Leonardo) Inestroza, Christine, Robert, Kari, Danielle, Brent, Shannon, Matthew, Leslie, Taylor & Emily Deutscher, and Angie (Scott Searing) Benjamin; and great-grandchildren Jason & Nicole Bennitt, Joe Park, Jared Long, Katlynn & Danielle Lewis, Elijah Deutscher and Kaitlynn Kessler.
Sisters Matilda, Barbara, Kathryn & Helen, brothers William, Stephen and Joseph, grandson Eric Brown and son-in-law Ronald Kessler preceded her in death.
Mary had retired after 10 years at the Austenal/Howmet Corporation and 6 years at LaPorte Hospital.
She was a 1936 graduate of LaPorte High School and a member of Rose Rebekah Lodge #408 and the LaPorte Hospital Retiree Club.
