Mary Louise Walker, 69, of LaPorte, IN passed away on November 14, 2008 at LaPorte Hospital. She was born May 17, 1939 in Chicago, IL to the late John and Myrtle Wall Brandich. On September 8, 1961 in Michigan City, IN at the First General Baptist Church, she married James “Jim” D. Walker who survives.
Other survivors are 3 Sons: Doug (Kathy) Walker of LaPorte, IN., Cary Walker of Tennessee., Jeff Walker of Marion, IN; 2 Daughters: Angela “N’isa” Freedomwalker of Mishawaka, IN., Tina (Wayne) Tamlin of LaPorte, IN; 8 Grandchildren: Chad, Ashley, Preston, & Clayton Walker, Brad, Mandy, & Carmen Womack, Noah Tamlin; 4 Great Grandchildren: Ethan Walker, Tyler, Jaedon and Nazaria Womack; 1 Brother: John Brandich of Port Charlotte, FL; 2 Sisters: Eileen Brandich of Port Charlotte, FL., JoAnn Renz of LaPorte, IN; Niece and Nephews: Brian & Michael Johnson and Kristine England. Mary was preceded in death by her parents.
Mary loved taking care of children, especially at the YMCA day care on Monroe Street. She enjoyed visiting with people through working at Wal-Mart.
Mary assisted her husband Jim in their web site www.theearlylight.com. She enjoyed skating in her younger years. Serving the Lord was her passion. Her joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mary attended Countryside Christian Church and Agape Christian Church over the years. She was very thoughtful about her pets. She always treated everyone as being very special.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the Cutler Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Johnson officiating. There will be a time of visitation from 4-8 P.M. on Wednesday and from 11 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens following the service.
