MaryEllen (Olson) Reynolds

MaryEllen Reynolds, 73, of Trail Creek, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, July 14, 2018.

MaryEllen was born in Joliet, IL, on November 15, 1944 to John and Zerilda (West) Olson.

On December 6, 1980 in Michigan City, IN, she married Jeff A. Reynolds who survives.  Also surviving are her beloved children, Brad (Wandee) Houck of Gulfport, MS, Adam (Allison) Houck of Rockfield, KY, Jason (Bethany) Reynolds of Cedar Rapids, IA, Sarah (Josh) Poston of Michigan City; 11 grandchildren, Alex Houck of Gulfport, MS, Sam Houck of Abilene, TX, Rebekah and Samantha Houck of Rockfield, KY, Dakota, Layla, Kaydee, Lilith and Trevor Reynolds of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Audrey and Vera Poston of Michigan City, IN; sister, Karen (Mark) McNally; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dean Houck; and sister, Judith Louderback.

MaryEllen worked at Walgreen's for 31 years.  She volunteered at Joy School and First United Methodist Church's Soup Kitchen. She enjoyed attending theatrical productions and summer band concerts, people with a quick wit, traveling with or to see family and organizing anything and everything. She was also active in her church, Lamb's Chapel.  MaryEllen was quick to help support others, whether it be emotional, completing projects, or working technology she could always be counted on.  She adored time spent with her grandchildren and always made family a top priority.  Although her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the lives she touched.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 3 pm (CDT) on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Jay Loucks officiating.

A time of visitation will be held from 2 - 3 pm (CDT) and continue after the service until 5 pm (CDT) on Saturday at the funeral home.
