Max Lee Mangold, Jr., age 53, of La Porte, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.
Max was born in La Porte, IN, on January 31, 1962.
Surviving are his beloved son, Keith (Elizabeth) Mangold of Michigan; grandchildren, Jack and Mary-Loretta; mother, Sarah Ellen (Ron) Engle of La Porte; father, Max Lee Mangold, Sr. of New Carlisle, IN; sisters, Tamara Mangold of Wheatfield, IN, and Melissa Mangold of La Porte; brothers, John (Jeana) Mangold of La Porte, Jamie (Tracie) Mangold of La Porte, and Chad (Jennifer) Mangold of La Porte; nephews and nieces, Joshua VanSchoyck, Chloe Lower, Adam Mangold, Amanda Price, Alex Fleming, Alyson Fleming, Brittney Mangold, Jaden Mangold, Ashlynn Mangold and Aleeyah Mangold; great-nephews and nieces, Brock, Harlynn, and Riley.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Floyd Henry Mangold and Lotus (Mangold) Boniface; maternal grandparents, Walker Turner, Sr. and Calla (Bowling) Turner; aunts, Mary Ellen (Mangold) Klute and Callie Rose (Turner) McKenzie; uncles, Elwood Mangold, Roscoe Turner, Paul Turner, Lewis Henry Turner and Walker Turner, Jr.
Max worked as a mechanic at Nova. He enjoyed Nascar, football, tinkering in his garage, restoring old cars, and working on race cars. Max loved his friends, family and extended family at Nova.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Barry Brown of Praise Tabernacle officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 7 PM Wednesday, April 8, 2015 and on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of service at the funeral home.
Cremation will take place following the service at the Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
