Maxine M. Emerick, 80, of Walkerton, Indiana, died at 8:38 a.m. on Friday, March 3, 2006 at LaPorte Hospital.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. CST on Tuesday, March 7, at St. John's Lutheran Church, LaPorte, with Rev. Ron Brauer officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00-7:00 p.m. at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Cemetery.
Maxine was born August 16, 1925, in LaPorte to John & Frances (Ehmke) Schoof. On August 28, 1948, in South Bend, Indiana, she married Theodore E. Emerick, who preceded her in death August 21, 2003.
Survivors include daughter Vickie (Dennis) Jurcy of Johnston City, IL; son Mark (Sue) Emerick of Fish Lake, IN; 13 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Four sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
Maxine was a homemaker. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and she volunteered at the St. John's Lutheran Thrift Shop in LaPorte. She loved gardening and crocheting.
