Michael Anthony Fazekas, age 51, of Michigan City, passed away unexpectantly on Friday, June 20, 2014 at home.
Michael was born in Gary, IN, on September 5, 1962 to Stephen Fazekas and Sandra (Schweder) Fazekas. Surviving are his daughter, Tanya Bice of Michigan City; brother, Dan (Lynn) Fazekas of DeKalb, IL; nephew, Matthew Fazekas of DeKalb, IL; mother-in-law, Elizza Kahn of Michigan City; sister-in-law, Roxan "Peanut" (Ty) Murray of La Porte, IN; two brother-in-laws, Gary (Kay) Kahn of Michigan City and Alfred (Kim) Kahn of La Porte; two grandsons, Steven Bice and Nathaniel Simmons; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his life partner, Roger Dale Kahn; and nephew, Staff Sgt. Eric W. Wallen.
Michael worked as a hair stylist at Smart Style. He was an assistant manager at Cosmo Prof in Michigan City and part owner of Designs In Cakes. He graduated from Valparaiso University with a Bachelor's Degree in Business and was a member of Phi Mu Alpha. Michael loved gardening, cake decorating, art, and classical movies. He was a true entertainer loving to sing, dance, and play piano.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. A time of visitation will be held from 9 AM until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. Please dress accordingly for the "Fabulous" celebration.
