Michael Douglas Kiger

Michael Douglas Kiger, 15, of La Porte, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 at La Porte Hospital.

Michael was born in La Porte, IN, on July 14, 2003 to Ron M. Papke and Angie M. (Kiger) Miller.

Surviving are his father, Ron M. (Jessica) Papke of Trail Creek; mother, Angie M. Miller of La Porte; brother, Tyler Kiger of La Porte; sister, Claire Papke of Trail Creek; sister, Mackenzie Miller of La Porte; brothers, Kaleb and Braxton Miller of La Porte; grandparents, Peggy George of La Porte, Mary Bragg of Michigan City, Doug (Laurie) Kiger, Sr. of La Porte, and Belinda Bodie of Athens, AL; great-grandmothers, Mildred Cornelison and Grace Goers, both of La Porte; and uncles, Doug Kiger, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, and Rick Cornelison of South Bend.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bruce Bodie.

Michael was very energetic, fun loving and sometimes annoying.  He had a heart for animals, especially his pet chickens.  He liked to make money and some people knew him as "Money Mike".

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6 pm on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Nate Ward officiating.  Cremation will follow the service.

A time of visitation will be held from 3 pm until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
