Michael Vapensky, Jr., age 78, of Port Richey, FL, and formerly of La Porte, IN, died on Friday, February 14, 2014 in Florida.
He was born August 18, 1935 in East Chicago, IN, to the late Michael and Susan Agnes (Hudar) Vapensky, Sr.
He was a United States Navy Veteran.
Surviving are his brothers, John G. Vapensky of La Porte and Thomas Vapensky of Port Richey, FL, niece; Nicole "Nikki" (Vapensky) Marvel of Chicago, IL, nephew; John J. Vapensky of Evanston, IL, grandnephew; Alex Vapensky of Evanston, IL, grandnieces; Mia Marvel of Chicago, IL and Molly Vapensky.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister-in-law; Joan Vapensky.
A graveside service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, February 25 at Swan Lake Memorial Gardens Chapel in Michigan City, IN with Father Ian Williams officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center in La Porte, IN.
