Michele Nauyokas, 73, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 11:40 a.m.
Michele was born in Muncie, Indiana, on September 17, 1947 to Doug and Betty (Moody) Adams.
On June 13, 1992, she married Robert A. Nauyokas who survives. Also surviving are her children, Adam (Jennifer) Heeg of Englewood, Florida and Megan Tockert of La Porte; granddaughters, Cassandra, Monica and Sophia; grandsons, Maximilian and Emerson; brothers, Mike (Karen) Adams and Mark (Cindy) Adams; father-in-law, George Biederstadt of Michigan City; mother-in-law, Debbie Handtke of New Carlisle; sister-in-laws, Rebecca Nauyokas of Kokomo, Wendy (Len) Hillhouse of Omaha, Nebraska, Kathy (Jason) Clemons of New Carlisle, and Robin Nauyokas of Bradley, Illinois.
She was preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law, Judy Biederstadt; and father-in-law, Larry Nauyokas.
Passionate about all aspects of teaching, Michele taught for 38 years. She was incredibly dedicated to this calling and helped many students find their path. She loved being in the many theatre productions during her high school teaching career. Michele was vivacious and had a personality that was larger than life. Her infectious laugh spread joy to all around, and her energy filled a room. Her loving and adventurous spirit resulted in a life lived to the fullest. To know her, was to love her.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
