Mildred Marie Whitacre, 75, of Union Mills, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Aperion Care Arbors in Michigan City.
Mildred was born in Niles, MI, on April 2, 1942 to Sidney and Jessie (Catel) Harris.
On December 15, 1961 in Niles, MI, she married William Whitacre who survives in La Porte. Also surviving are her beloved children, Wayne Whitacre of Chicago, IL, and Marlene Choromokos of Naperville, IN; and grandchildren, Alicia and Neil Choromokos.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM (CST) on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Bethel Presbyterian Church, 110 Hamilton Street, Union Mills. Rev. Gretchen Seipler-Gibbs will be officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 10 - 11 AM (CST) on Saturday at the church. Interment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL at a later date.
