Mildred “Millie” Wiltfong, 82, of LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Monday, October 6, 2008 at 9:41 P.M. in LaPorte Hospital. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 10, 2008 at Cutler Funeral Home. There will be a time of visitation with the family on Thursday from 4-8 P.M. and on Friday from 9-11 A.M. at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Mill Creek.
Mildred was born October 23, 1925 in Moulton, AL. to the late Burch and Mollie (Daniel) Sutton.
She was married on July 24, 1945 in Iuka, Miss. To Hiawatha Wiltfong who preceded her in death April 1996.
Survivors include 3 Dtrs: Vanasa (John) Otto-La Porte, Darla (Tom) Schroeder-Brownsville, IN., & Pamela (Larry) Schmalfeldt-Indianapolis., 2 sons; Hirian Wiltfong-Indianapolis, & Harlen (Nancy) Wiltfong-La Porte, 3 Grandchildren: Mollie Hawkins, Jennifer Smith, & Tara Lemus, 5 Great Grandchildren; Trenton, Nicholas, Brady, Olivia, & Braden, Sis: Geneva Gage-Bronson, MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents & a sister; Hilda Lindsey
She worked at American Rubber for several years and 12 years as a supervisor. Mildred was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church was a member of the Women’s Mission Society.
