Mrs. Maxine Seymour Bessler, 85, Wanatah, died at 9:15 p.m. Friday (Dec. 26, 2003) at Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cutler Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Craig Culver officiating. Burial will be in Monon Cemetery, Monon, Ind.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bessler was born Sept. 22, 1918, in Monon, to Albert and Martha (Akers) Kellenberger. In 1937, she married Harold Seymour, who preceded her in 1944. In 1963, she married Clyde Bessler, who preceded her in 1972.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Sue (David) Reno, Rock Wall, Texas, and Marian Wentz, Culver, Ind.; two sons, Jerry (Wilma) Seymour, Hamlet, Ind., and Don Bessler, North Liberty, Ind.; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Patricia Milam, Lake Station, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one son, Deloss Seymour, and four sisters, Geneva, Margaret, Betty and Dorothy.
Mrs. Bessler was a punchpress operator at Kaiser Aluminum for 25 years.
Memorials may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association or to a charity of the donor's choice.
