Neftali Santiago, 77, of La Porte, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family.
Neftali was born on August 1, 1944 in Lares, Puerto Rico, to Benjamin and Obdulia (Camacho) Santiago.
Surviving Neftali are his children, Neftali (Jodi) Santiago Jr., Ricardo Santiago, Linette Santiago, Lourdes Santiago, and Daniel Santiago all of Milwaukee, WI.; 7 grandchildren, Chloe, Jordan, Julian, Natalia, Danny Jr., Penelope, and Jacob; 2 great-grandchildren Scarlett and Wolfie; 6 sisters; 5 brothers; mother of his children, Aurea Santiago; as well as over 50 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents; brothers, Benjamin Santiago, Jr, Jacob Santiago, and Pepe Santiago; and sister, Libia Santiago.
Most of his life, Neftali was an autobody repairman. He enjoyed rebuilding, repairing and painting cars. Neftali also liked home remodeling, billiards, cooking, and dominoes. He was known as being a big practical joker. Neftali was devoted to his family, enjoyed helping people and making new friends. As a devout Christian, he loved to share the gospel and sing and play guitar to praise God.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Rev. Israel Santiago officiating. A private burial will take place at a later date in Milwaukee, WI.
A time of visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
