Neoma Young, age 98, of Walkerton, passed away on May 11, 2014 at Golden Living Center Fountainview in La Porte.
She was born in Chicago, IL, on February 25, 1916 to Richard H. and Agusta (Fritchie) Prather.
Neoma was married in Chicago, IL to FrankYoung who preceded her in death in 1967.
Surviving are her beloved children, four daughters, Shirley Levens of Hickory Hills, IL, Sally Benchak of Lockport, IL, Linda Ferdinand or Bradenton, FL, Susan Stalley of Thousand Oaks, CA; three Sons, John Young of Dyer, IN, Frank Young of Bradenton, FL, Bruce Young of Walkerton, IN; 23 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; and brother, Richard Prather.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Young; daughter, Carol Tucker; sister, Isabel Hatch; and brother, Austin Prather.
Neoma worked as a kitchen supervisor at Valparaiso University. She was a member of Salem Chapel United Methodist Church and enjoyed quilting.
A Cremation Committal has taken place at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
