NEW CARLISLE - Lillian H. Wiederoder, 96, of Miami, Fla., died at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday (June 24, 2003) at Hamilton Grove Communities in New Carlisle.
A private family funeral service will be held, with burial in Ogdensburg Cemetery in Traverse City, Mich. There will be no visitation. Funeral arrangements are being handled by Cutler Funeral Home, 2900 Monroe St., LaPorte.
Mrs. Wiederoder was born Aug. 18, 1906, in Detroit, to Edward W. and Lillian Katherine (Okrie) Miller. In 1924 in Toledo, Ohio, she married Val F. Wiederoder, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Beverly J. (Forrest) Schavey, LaPorte; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Leonard Miller.
Mrs. Wiederoder had been a department manager at Parke-Davis in Detroit. She and her husband spent 25 years in their own grocery stores business at Bowers Harbor Old Mission Peninsula at Traverse City, before retiring in 1970.
