Norma J. Lloyd, 81 years old of La Porte, IN, died Wednesday, April 22, 2009 in La Porte Hospital .
She was born Thursday, August 18, 1927 in Dayton, Ohio, daughter of the late Joseph Miner and the late Wilma (Cavitt) Miner.
Norma was a 45 year member of First Baptist Church Choir and served on several boards of the church, Women's Literary, and was active in La Porte Little Theater for many years.
She worked as a Billing Clerk for Whirlpool Corporation.
Surviving are her son; Dr. Dennis Lloyd of Ontario, CA, daughter; Sandra Lloyd of Montesano, WA, two sisters; Eileen Visser of Grand Rapids, MI and Faye Decesare of Brooklyn,OH, four brothers; Martin Collins of Cleveland, OH, Leonard Collins of Westlake, OH, Willard Collins of Cleveland, OH, and Alan Collins of Cleveland, OH, four Granddaughters, 5 Great-Grandsons, and 4 Great-Granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister; Esther Sherer.
Friends will be received on Saturday, April 25, 2009 from 3:00-6:00 PM, at the Cutler Funeral Home, La Porte, IN.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 26, 2009 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Doug Baker officiating.
Interment will follow at a later time in the Patton Cemetery , La Porte.
